Locomotive for the WPYR, the White Pass & Yukon Railroad, or as the locals sometimes called it the "Wait Patiently & You'll Ride". The WPYR rails ran right down the middle of Skagway's main street. This photo shows dozens of men loaded onto a flatcar downtown, ready to be taken up the pass to the end of the line to continue work on the railway. The rails would not be finished until well after the gold rush had fizzled.
