Standing in this same spot, about 10 minutes before, I was startled to hear a gasp and splash - looked down and saw a small otter that had just leapt out of the bay, onto shore about five feet away from me. He had a huge dungeness crab in his mouth, and was ready to chow down. Suddenly, he saw me and let out a yelp, grabbed his dinner, and swam up the shore, away from rude interruptions. |
